Questions

Good toknow.

Are company FDs safe?

Both Bajaj Finance and PNB Housing Finance carry the highest AAA ratings from leading agencies, indicating the highest degree of safety for timely payment. Unlike bank FDs, company deposits are not covered by DICGC deposit insurance, so spreading large amounts across issuers is sensible.

Should I choose cumulative or interest payouts?

Cumulative deposits reinvest interest and pay everything at maturity — best for growth. Monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annual payouts suit those who need regular income, at a slightly lower effective rate.

How is FD interest taxed?

Interest is added to your income and taxed at your slab rate. TDS applies above the threshold; senior citizens and those with income below the taxable limit can submit Form 15H or 15G where eligible.

Can I withdraw early?

Company deposits cannot usually be withdrawn in the first three months. After that, premature withdrawal is allowed at a reduced rate as per each company’s rules — a loan against the deposit is often the better option.

Rates are taken from the issuers’ published rate cards on the dates shown and may change without notice; the rate applicable is the one in force on the date your deposit is accepted. Company fixed deposits are not insured by DICGC. Read the application form and terms before investing.
